Going to Third Coast? Sign up for an NPR Training-AIR help session
Wow! We received an incredible response, and the sessions are now full.
And if that’s not enough NPR Training | AIR collaboration for you, we’re also hosting a Story Lab workshop at NPR HQ in March. Do you have an idea for an audio storytelling project that will break traditional formats and reach new audiences? Apply now!
For those of you lucky enough to sign up, we’ll get back to you before the conference with an assigned time.
Third Coast attendees — do you need to bounce a storytelling idea off of an editor? Start a digital plan for your next project? Or have a technical question you can’t quite figure out? We’re here to help!
The NPR Training Team, in collaboration with AIR, will be at the 2016 Third Coast International Audio Festival in Chicago, Nov. 11-13. We’re offering free one-on-one sessions to help you work through storytelling, editing, production and digital questions.
Help sessions are 20 minutes each and offered during the breaks between conference sessions. All you need to do is show up with a question (by the way, no question is too big or small). You may even be paired with a special guest …
Help sessions are available for the following topics:
- Audio storytelling
- Digital & social media
- Audio production
- Project management
- Technical issues
When will the help sessions take place?
They’ll occur during the breaks between Third Coast sessions. We want to schedule as many folks as possible, so please show up on time.
When will I find out my help session time?
We’ll get back to you the week of Nov. 7. We won’t be able to swap session times around, so please be mindful when you fill out your availability on the sign-up form.
Do I need to know my question now?
No, but you do need to sign up for a particular topic area now. It’s okay if you don’t know the exact question until you arrive.
I have a lot of questions! Can I sign up for more than one session?
We want to make room to help as many people as we can, so we ask that you sign up for one session only. However — feel free to catch one of us at the NPR Story Lab table and ask your question there! We’re always happy to help.
Who will I work with?
You’ll work with a member of NPR Training — or a special NPR guest — based on the topic area you sign up for.
Chat with the NPR Story Lab
After attending a help session we invite you to meet leaders of the NPR Story Lab, a new creative studio looking to collaborate with producers. That includes N’Jeri Eaton, NPR’s new senior manager for program acquisitions.
AIR is a network of more than 1,100 independent audio producers, journalists, public media programs, stations and networks across 30 countries. It recruits, cultivates and deploys independent storymakers to enrich, expand and strengthen the public media system.
