Story structure and storytelling devices:

During this session, we’ll go through the narrative arc of an audio story, from intro to ending. We’ll talk about how to draw listeners into a story, the role of ambi and signposting and how to use them as storytelling devices and discuss different ways of writing in and out of tape. Finally, we’ll discuss options for ending stories well.

This session is meant for new or inexperienced radio reporters, producers, and editors. Having done Session 1 is recommended, but not required.

*Open to NPR Staff and Member Station employees*
