Derrick L. Cogburn is an associate professor at the School of International Service and the Kogod School of Business at American University. His research interests include global information and communication technology, socio-economic development, and institutional mechanisms for global governance of ICTs (information and communications technology).
Cogburn is executive director of the Institute on Disability and Public Policy and faculty co-director of the Internet Governance Lab. He is the editor of the Palgrave Macmillan book series Information Technology and Global Governance, and past president of the Information Technology and Politics section of the American Political Science Association.
