Dwayne Proctor is the senior adviser to the president at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, which works to improve health and healthcare. He focuses on issues of health equity and the social determinants of health. Previously, Proctor was an assistant professor at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, where he taught public health, medical and dental students health communications, and health marketing approaches for engaging multi-ethnic populations.
Proctor was a Fulbright Fellow in Senegal, where he investigated the effectiveness of HIV/AIDS risk messages.
