Eboo Patel

As an American Muslim of Indian heritage, Eboo Patel turned his vision of interreligious cooperation into a youth movement, Interfaith Youth Core (IFYC). The organization’s goal is to promote respect for religious diversity and “common action for the common good.”

Patel was a member of President Obama’s Advisory Council of the White House Office of Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships. He was named one of America’s Best Leaders of 2009 by U.S. News and World Report and is the author of four books: Acts of FaithSacred GroundInterfaith Leadership: A Primer and Out of Many Faiths: Religious Diversity and the American Promise.
