Payal Chakraborty

Payal Chakraborty is a postdoctoral research fellow in the Department of Population Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Institute. She specializes in sexual and reproductive health and focuses on reproductive health disparities among LGBTQ individuals. Her research interests include analyzing the impact of structures, policies and proposed legislation on sexual and reproductive health outcomes. 

As a graduate student, she studied sexual and reproductive health outcomes in Ohio and wrote her doctoral dissertation on the risk factors of syphilis and syphilis prevention. She has authored several journal articles about abortion and contraception access. 

She holds a Ph.D. in epidemiology from Ohio State University and a master’s in global health from Duke University.
