Pierre Vigilance is associate dean for public health practice and an associate professor of health policy and management at the Milken Institute School of Public Health at George Washington University. He is an expert on health policy, public and community health, social determinants of health, and policy and program development.
Vigilance teaches and advises students and executive learners, oversees the applied learning platform, and co-directs the school’s diversity and inclusion work.
Previously, Vigilance was the director of the District of Columbia Department of Health. He also served as director of the Baltimore County Department of Health, and as the assistant commissioner for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention in Baltimore City.
